Gent is an old medieval town in Belgium famous for its St. Bavo Cathedral, medieval houses and canals.

After our visit Gent we will continue to the lovely picturesque town of Bruges, with its many chocolate shops, Beguinage inner courtyards, pillow lace and shopping centres. You will have ample time to explore the delightful atmosphere of medieval Bruges on your own before returning to Amsterdam. 

During Winter 2011/2012 only the city of Bruges is visited! This tour will last approx. 11 hours.

We visit Gent with the splendid gothic St. Bavo Cathedral, dedicated to the town's 7th century patron saint. We see the medieval Castle of the Counts, modeled after the Crusaders castles that the count had encountered when he participated in the second crusade. We enjoy the numerous delightful old canals.

After lunch (not included) we carry on to historical Bruges, well known for its churches, the Beguinage inner courtyards, pillow lace making and its pleasant shopping centre.

There is enough time before returning to Amsterdam, to do some shopping or just to enjoy the atmosphere of this enchanting town!
