During this GPS tour you will visit the picturesque fishing villages of Volendam and Marken. You will drive through typical Dutch polders and along narrow dykes. Our luxury coach will take you to the Zaanse Schans and its many unique windmills. The old crafts of the Netherlands are not lacking in this tour. You will visit a wooden clog maker and you can see how Dutch cheese is made the traditional way.

This GPS guided tour shows you the typical Dutch countryside of polders and small canals on the way to the ' Zaanse Schans', a well known spot on the Zaan River with historical windmills.(dont forget your camera) Zaandam was the worlds largest industrial zone back in the 17th century, with over a 1000 windmills. Czar Peter The Great of Russia was an apprentice here on one of the many shipbuilding yards.
We will be visiting a wooden shoe /clog factory. The next stop are the world-famous fishing villages of Volendam and Marken - on the coast of the former Zuiderzee (now called IJsselmeer). With its typical green wooden houses and locals dressed in their traditional costumes. On our way back we will make a visit to one of the very few cheese farms left, where cheese still made in the traditional way for many centuries. Included in this excursion is a boat trip from Volendam to Marken, a former island that is now connected to the main land. (only provided during the Summer season)
