One of the things that Amsterdam is world famous for are the cities coffees shops. In Amsterdam, coffeeshop means a place where cannabis is openly sold and smoked. There are over 300 coffee shops in Amsterdam.The coffeeshops can legally store up to 500 g of marijuana and can sell up to 5 grams to adults over 18. They come in several basic flavours: dark rasta, generic touristy, authentic dutch, and cool.

We will take you around Amsterdam explaining various aspects of this plant, from its medicinal use all the way to its recreational consumption and of course drug consumption related politics. We will visit the Hash, Marihuana & Hemp Museum we will learn more about this controversial plant. To finish off the tour we will visit a coffee shop for a drink and a chat. We will go behind the scenes of the Amsterdam Coffee shop industry!This could entail a visit to one of the coffeeshops, where we'll learn about client attitudes, social reaction patterns and current trends in the drug trade. Of course, there will be some time to freely look around and ask questions to the owner. We'll also visit the Cannabis/ Marijuanamuseum entrance not included Total duration: +/- 2 hours Minimum.
